Pray Buddy is built with data minimization as a core principle. The app only collects and processes:
No personal data is shared with, sold to, or used by third parties for advertising purposes. There are no trackers, no analytics, and no ads in the app.
The app uses your location solely to calculate local prayer times and the Qibla direction. Your location is never stored, transmitted, or shared with third parties. Location access is only requested during active use of the app.
All user data (settings, prayer tracking, profiles) is stored exclusively on your device. There is no cloud sync and no server upload.
The app contains pre-installed prayer reminder voices (boy, girl and adult variants for Kids Mode and Adult Mode, plus confirmation sounds after completed prayers). All audio is bundled with the app and plays locally. Pray Buddy does not include a classical Adhan call, and there are no audio recordings of Du'as (Du'as are shown as text with Arabic, transliteration and translation).
Pray Buddy calculates prayer times in two ways, depending on your settings:
ezanvakti.emushaf.net, if you explicitly select a Diyanet location during onboarding. Only the district identifier is transmitted, no personal data or device information.The Qibla compass uses your device's magnetometer and your current location on-device. The Home Screen widgets (date, location and upcoming prayer) also read only local data and do not send anything to a server.
Since no personal data is stored on our servers, the usual rights of access and deletion do not apply. All data can be completely removed by deleting the app.
Pray Buddy includes a Kids Mode with age-appropriate content. No personal data is collected or transmitted in Kids Mode either.
This privacy policy may be updated as needed. The current version is always available at this address.
